At a distance of some 17 km from Padampuri and 5 km from Bhimtal is the Naukuchiyatal Lake. It is the deepest (135 ft.) and probably the most tranquil lake of the region that has acquired the name of Lake District. The lake is called so in local dialect because it has nine lopsided corners.
Bounded by dense, verdant jungles, Naukuchiyatal is a very appealing setting enthralling everyone with its daunting charisma. The forests are the home to a plethora of Himalayan flora and fauna and provide ample opportunities for long walks in the lap of nature.
